In early 2025, a leading British cheese manufacturer undertook a major upgrade of its production facilities to improve hygiene standards, streamline cleaning processes, and enhance the durability of internal finishes. Known for producing traditional blue cheese and operating under strict food safety standards, the facility required a robust and hygienic kerbing system to support its new wall panelling and resin flooring.
This project formed part of a wider refurbishment initiative aimed at modernising critical food processing zones and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
In food manufacturing, particularly in dairy production, maintaining strict hygiene is essential. The manufacturer required a stainless steel kerbing solution that would:
Provide a seamless, cleanable interface between the floor and white wall panelling
Withstand frequent chemical washdowns and intensive cleaning processes
Offer protection against physical impact from equipment and operational traffic
Meet or exceed hygiene and safety standards across the entire facility
The system also had to be delivered within tight programme constraints and integrate with works being completed by flooring and wall panelling contractors.

Site Survey
Our team conducted a detailed survey of the site to ensure all dimensions and junctions were fully accounted for before manufacture.
Design & Specification
We supplied approximately 180 linear metres of G316-grade single-sided stainless steel kerbing in the AQC1 profile, which is part of our Kerbline product range. The AQC1 kerbing was specifically chosen for its durability, hygienic properties, and suitability for high-performance environments.
Manufacture
All kerbing was fabricated in-house to precise specifications. The AQC1 kerb profile was designed to provide robust wall protection while enabling a seamless floor-to-wall transition.
Installation
Our experienced installation team coordinated closely with other trades on-site to ensure timely and accurate fitting. The stainless steel kerbing was installed to exacting standards, resulting in a clean and professional finish.
The stainless steel kerbing installation successfully enhanced both the functionality and hygiene of the processing space. With a smooth transition between floor and wall finishes and robust physical protection in place, the client now benefits from a cleaner, safer, and more efficient working environment.
