Aqualine by Alway was commissioned to design, manufacture, and install a 15-metre food-grade stainless steel drainage channel for a well-known condiments manufacturer. The system was integrated into an existing outlet on site, and the entire project was completed within a two-week timeframe.
Aqualine by Alway was tasked with delivering a bespoke, food-grade stainless steel drainage channel system for a high-capacity condiments manufacturer within a tight construction schedule. The project involved installing a 15-metre channel, cut into and connected to an existing site outlet, all while ensuring strict hygiene standards.
The new 15-metre channel had to be integrated into an existing outlet and delivered with a fast turnaround time of just two weeks, meeting the client’s tight construction schedule.
The manufacturer required a robust, fully hygienic channel system capable of withstanding continuous wet cleaning cycles and exposure to food-industry chemicals.
Access and phasing constraints on the live construction site meant that Aqualine by Alway had to be efficient and accurate with the design, manufacture and installation to ensure minimal disruption to the construction project.
Design
Detailed layout and tie-in drawings were produced immediately after survey, specifying food-grade stainless steel materials and gully arrangements suited to the drainage system requirements.
Manufacturing
The drainage system was prefabricated in our manufacturing facility to tight tolerances, limiting field work to cutting the existing outlet, connecting the new channel, and making watertight welds. The products used in this project were the AQ Ladder 100 and the AQ Medium Duty Channel 100
Onsite Installation
Our specialist “Safe Contractor Approved” installation team performed the outlet cut-in and installed the 15-metre channel in planned phases, in line with the construction project timeline. All welds and finishes met food-grade standards and were cleaned before handover.
Handover
Full inspection and hygiene verification were completed before handover back to the client, ensuring the system met their expectations and industry cleaning standards.
The project was delivered within the client’s fast-paced two-week timescale, fitting perfectly within their tight construction schedule. The seamless integration with the existing outlet avoided costly rerouting of plant services.
The food-grade, easy-clean stainless steel construction will reduce cleaning time and improve contamination control, meeting the high standards required in the food production environment.
The client was very satisfied with the quality and speed of the work, which led to a repeat commission for Aqualine by Alway to install an additional commercial drainage system elsewhere on site.
